Wednesday, September 2, 2015 - Shasta-Trinity/Six Rivers NF Complexes Smoke/Air Quality Reoport

Wednesday September 2, 2015
Shasta-Trinity & Six Rivers Fire Complexes                                  Mike Broughton and Greg Hosburg

Forecast conditions represent impacts from smoke.  Contributions from ozone and other pollutants are not reflected.
Smoke Synopsis:    0830 Morning Version
Fire activity continues to be light, winds from the west and good dispersion - smoke will affect only local areas.  This pattern is expected to continue for the next few days, with winds becoming more northerly.  A couple hours of morning smoke is likely in Hyampom, clearing rapidly by noon.  Most other areas will only be moderately affected if at all.

Holiday Weekend Outlook:  Good air quality is expected in most locations through Sunday. There is a possibility of some rain showers Friday afternoon into Saturday morning, mostly in the north.  Late Sunday into Labor Day, winds could shift offshore bringing warmer, drier conditions over the fire complexes, increasing smoke production.
