Smoke from the Detwiler Fire has been observed over a large swath of California today, from Fresno to north of the Reno/Tahoe area. Most of the smoke seems to have been at high elevation, not at the surface, though concentrations are in the moderate range in some areas underneath the plume. Models show that winds from a more westerly direction should blow the smoke more to the east as the day progresses.
Note: the NOAA's GOES-16 satellite has not been declared operational and its data are preliminary and undergoing testing. |
