Friday August 19, 2016 Smoke Impact Forecast #Bluecutfire

Bluecut Smoke Report
August 19, 2016
Prepared by Josh Hall

Fire is approximately 37,000 acres and 26% contained.  Red flag conditions are forecast for the fire today, however, smoke production is expected to continue to decrease as the areas of active fire are reduced and no new starts occur from spotting.  Fire is only active at this time in one section of Lytle Creek, which burned actively overnight, as well as isolated areas south of Highway 2 and the junction of Highway 138.

Light smoke is expected to be transported to the north and northeast during the day, with minimal ground level impacts expected.

Impacts are expected to continue to decrease in the coming days.  In the lighter fuels, almost complete consumption is occurring so residual smoke is minimal.
