Smoke emissions are increasing on the Shirley Fire this afternoon Afternoon heating and increasing winds are causing some hot spots to flare up inside the fire perimeter . The picture below, taken from the web camera at Kernville at 3:43 pm shows the smoke emissions coming off the interior of the fire.
The 3-hour rolling PM2.5 concentrations are shown in the graph below, with the AQI health categories displayed in the background. The data is showing that even though the smoke emissions are increasing, the smoke is not reaching Kernville.
