Friday September 2nd, 2016 - #Cedarfire Smoke Report

Cedar Fire Smoke Report
Issued:  9/2/2016
Prepared by:  Wendy Wagner

Forecast conditions represent impacts from smoke from the Cedar Fire.  Contributions from ozone and other pollutants and impacts from other fires are not reflected.
Fire:  Fire activity remains very minimal and confined to isolated pockets inside containment lines where creeping and smoldering exists. There has been no fire growth for two days and total acres burned remains at 29,322. Containment has increased to 95%. Firefighters will continue to patrol the perimeter.
Air Quality Today:  Air quality conditions have improved considerably during the past few days due to very little smoke production. The only direct impacts still seen are in the communities under the Western perimeter such as Glennville, Posey and Panorama Heights. In these areas air quality is expected to increase from Good to Moderate during the early morning hours due to overnight drainage flow. Otherwise, in Kernville, the Kern Valley and Lake Isabella communities, conditions are Good as much of the residual smoke has pushed out. In the Ridgecrest, Owens Valley, Three Rivers and San Joaquin Valley, little to no smoke impacts from the Cedar Fire are expected (any air quality impacts are from other sources).
Air Quality Tomorrow:  Improving air quality.
