Soberanes FIre                                                                                Prepared by:  Jen Croft
Forecast #19                                                                                               CAL-FIRE IMT #4

Forecast conditions represent impacts from smoke from the Soberanes Fire wildfire.  Contributions from ozone and other pollutants are not reflected.

Fire:  Fire activity was light to moderate along the west and east shoulders yesterday with some short wind/slope alignment activity, and interior islands cleaning up.  Current perimeter is 76,017 acres.  This is 3,451 new acres resulting from the above efforts. Current containment is reported at 60%.
Air Quality Today:  The deep marine layer today will keep smoke emissions from lifting until mid-day.  The dry and breezy conditions expected to surface above the marine layer late in the afternoon will help improve conditions late in the day, and into the following burning period.
Air Quality Tomorrow:  Potential for late day clearing on 8/16 and return of SW winds will move smoke emissions out of the Salinas Valley improving surface air quality conditions.
