Fire: Fire growth was substantially less yesterday
than seen the previous few days, but no growth estimates are available at the
time of writing this report. The
north and east portions of the fire are approaching the tops of the ridges,
where it is encountering rocky cliffs with less continuous fuels. Some slow backing of the fire continues in
the lower portions.
Air Quality Today: For areas east of the fire, smoke will
beginning moving down the Kings River Canyon and into the San Joaquin Valley
at 8 pm. Smoke will begin clearing out
of the valley at noon. For areas west
of the fire, smoke will begin building over the eastern foothills, beginning
at noon, and settling into the valley overnight, and clearing in the morning.
Air Quality Tomorrow: A similar pattern as today’s forecast. |
