Tuesday September 9th, 2014 - Klamath NF smoke and haze observed over much of California

Satellite observations show that much of the smoke over the Central Valley of California is actually from the wildfires in the Klamath NF, not the Meadow wildfire in Yosemite National Park.


Smoke and haze connected to the Klamath fire plume extend south over the northern half of the California Central Valley and from the ocean west of the Bay Area, all the way over into the Reno Tahoe area.  Here's the MODIS image, overlaid on Google Earth:
