You may have already discovered the new Fire and Smoke Map (fire.airnow.gov), and you might have followed that link on your computer, but have you tried on a smart phone? This web service is "location aware," so when you go to that link on your phone browser, you can give permission for your phone to tell it where you are, and it will tell you:
- all about the air quality at the monitors or sensors nearest you,
- the fires around you, and
- (best of all) send you directly to any smoke forecast outlooks created by Air Resource Advisors (ARAs) that apply to your area.
You can browse to these forecast outlooks directly at https://wildlandfiresmoke.net/outlooks (all California smoke forecast outlooks are also posted here on the California Smoke Blog)
