Island Fire Smoke Update:
Smoke traveling down-canyon from the
Island fire to Sawyers Bar and Forks of Salmon in Northern California is clearly visible on the new GOES 16 satellite product.
The smoke
monitor at Sawyer's Bar definitely shows the elevated concentrations associated with this phenomenon, and overall daily air quality (24 hr averages) will be at least in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range as a result for today at this site. Light NW winds forecasted for tomorrow may improve conditions for Sunday morning, but this pattern of smoke transport will likely continue.*
