Smoke Impacts from the Cedar Fire

Forecast conditions represent impacts from smoke from the Cedar Fire.  Contributions from ozone and other pollutants and impacts from other fires are not reflected.
Fire:  Fire growth yesterday was minimal as cloud cover and thunderstorms were in the area most of the day.  The fire grew to 21,017 acres and is 5% contained.  Slight growth occurred along the perimeter, with a reduction in the smoke being produced by heavy interior fuels. 
Air Quality Today: Impacts are expected in the Kern Valley between Johnsondale and Kernville this morning and persisting through late afternoon.  Smoke is expected to be transported towards the east with moderate impacts expected in Kennedy Meadows and Ridgecrest late this afternoon and early evening diminishing overnight.  USG to unhealthy impacts are expected in areas near the fire in Kernville and Wofford Heights.        
Air Quality Tomorrow: Similar impacts as today, with the potential for moderate impacts in the Owens Valley.
