Saturday August 21, 2016 #Cedarfire Smoke Impact Forecast

Cedar Fire- Air Quality Report                                                                                                         Prepared by:  Josh Hall

Forecast conditions represent impacts from smoke from the Cedar Fire.  Contributions from ozone and other pollutants and impacts from other fires are not reflected.
Fire:  Fire is well established in drought-stressed and bug-killed timber, resulting in an active, deep-seated fire. Poor relative-humidity recovery supported active night-time fire behavior, including torching and short-range spotting.  The fire is now 14,543 acres and is 5% contained.
Air Quality Today: Smoke will be transported west of the fire during the day, however much of this smoke is expected to stay aloft, with Moderate impacts in the Central Valley today.  Ground level impacts are expected from the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups to Unhealthy levels in communities near the fire east towards the California state line fire this evening and tomorrow morning, in much of Inyo County as well as along the northern borders of Kern and San Bernardino counties and southeast Tulare county.
Air Quality Tomorrow: Smoke is expected to be transported east of the fire tomorrow, with Unhealthy to USG conditions in areas near the fire.
