Friday August 26, 2016 - #Reyfire Smoke Report

Forecast conditions represent impacts from smoke.  Contributions from ozone and other pollutants are not reflected.

Fire Information:    The fire was active in the upper Mono drainage and Ogilvy Ranch area until approximately 3:00AM when the marine layer settled in.  Fire crews made good progress improving the road system along Camusa Road and prep work along Pendola jeep trail.  Today crews will continue to construct line directly on the fire’s perimeter along the eastern flank; while improving the P-Bar and Pendola contingency lines.  Crews will continue to patrol the west end of the perimeter and begin fire suppression repairs.  The fire grew to approximately 33,006 and 39% contained.  Most of the growth was in the east. 
Weather and Smoke Information: Cooler temperatures are expected today with increasing temperatures forecasted for the weekend.  Transport winds are expected to be out of the northwest.  San Luis Obispo, Nipomo, Lompoc, Santa Maria, and Santa Ynez should see Good conditions today and tomorrow as transport winds will be out of the northwest.  Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Ojai may see Moderate conditions today and tomorrow.
