from smoke from the Soberanes Fire wildfire.

Fire: Moderate fire activity today associated with
backing fire along the southern edge towards the river drainage, and
perimeter burnout operations to maintain the containment of the western flank. Current perimeter is 81,396 acres, with 1,396
new acres. Current containment is reported at 60%.
Air Quality
Today: Better
south winds than predicted provided some much needed relief to the Big Sur
area yesterday, and will likely continue to provide some periods of improved
conditions as an onshore flow with SW winds will arrive by mid-day. Later in the afternoon, west winds will
push the smoke back into the Carmel and Salinas Valleys. Expect the evening to bring a light NW-W
wind that will move some of the smoke out of these areas towards King
City.
Air Quality Tomorrow: Conditions similar to today, with some
additional west winds pushing smoke into the Carmel and Salinas Valleys.
