Curious about the haze out there? Smoke is pushing into the region from several large wildfires. The smoke today is likely from fires in Idaho and eastern Oregon due to the northeast flow aloft. This video is a HRRR forecast simulation showing smoke transport from the wildfires with the darker reds and purples being thicker smoke, thinning into the green and blue shading. Unfortunately, with multiple fires surrounding the region, it's unlikely we'll see perfectly clear skies until the fires are more contained. Check here for a map with the latest ongoing wildfires
