Wednesday August 26, 2015 - Shasta-Trinity/Six Rivers NF Complexes Smoke/Air Quality Report

Wednesday August 26, 2015
Shasta-Trinity & Six Rivers Complexes                                              Mike Broughton and Greg Hosburg

Forecast conditions represent impacts from smoke.  Contributions from ozone and other pollutants are not reflected.
Smoke Synopsis:    1000 Final
Smoke sitting above the inversion layer in deep inland valleys will mix down to the surface as the day heats up, then clear in most locations. Coastal areas are likely to see some elevated smoke impacts during the morning, clearing during the afternoon and overnight, returning again the following morning.  Smoke will generally drift to the northeast and east over the next two days.

The Gasquet and River Complexes were active overnight.  Wednesday’s fire activity is expected to remain moderate, as teams work to tie in containment lines on the Mad River, South, River and Gasquet Complexes.  The Democrat Fire just west of Weaverville also has been generating some additional local smoke.
