Tuesday August 25, 2015 - Shasta-Trinity/Six Rivers NF Smoke/Air Quality Report

Tuesday August 25, 2015
Shasta-Trinity & Six Rivers Complexes                                Mike Broughton and Greg Hosburg

Forecast conditions represent impacts from smoke.  Contributions from ozone and other pollutants are not reflected.
Smoke Synopsis:    1015 Final
A general transport flow from the south to southwest combined with a coastal onshore push from the west will send smoke up into southern Oregon, but much of the smoke is aloft and not affecting surface concentrations.  This morning, some of the smoke aloft will mix down to the surface for a few hours, then clear out as ventilation improves with daytime heating.  Coastal areas will continue to experience typical effects of the marine layer without smoke impacts.

The most active fires include the Lassic Fire (Mad River Complex), the River Complex, and the Gasquet Complex in Del Norte County.
