Sunday September 7th, 2014 Klamath NF Smoke Impact Summary

Yesterday Winds pushed smoke to the northwest much of the day. Smoke pooled into the Klamath River valley in the late morning and afternoon hours and remained in high concentrations for several hours. Smoke entered the Scott and Shasta Valleys in the late afternoon.
Today Smoke is forecast to be similar as yesterday. Smoke dispersion will be limited due to low winds.  Smoke will pool into valleys and be highest in the Klamath River valley.  Visibility on Hwy 96 and 3 may be reduced for much of the day. Shasta Valley will likely see a reduction in air quality today.
Tomorrow Smoke will be pushed southeast in morning, and then wind directions will change and push the smoke southwest in afternoon. Smoke concentrations are likely to remain high in the Scott Valley.
